BREWING ASSISTANT

The Brewing Assistant from Brewology101.com is an app for assisting in the brewing of your beer. It helps you build your own recipes by calculating your recipe's IBUs, SRM, OG, FG, and ABV while you build your recipe. Both US customary and metric are supported.

The Brewing Assistant will also synchronize your recipes to the Brewology101.com Ale Abacus where you can then edit and delete your recipes or create new recipes. With the ability to sync your recipes to Brewology101.com, you can share your recipes with your friends, family, or the entire internet. It also allows you to backup all your recipes and transfer them to the other Android and iOS devices.

To import your recipes into the Brewing Assistant from BeerXML, please import the recipes on Brewology101.com. Then to get the recipes to the Brewing Assistant, all you have to do is perform a sync. No need to manually enter all your recipes into your phone or tablet.

Once you're ready to brew, the Brewing Assistant will help you with your mash and your boil. The mash reminder will alert you to stir your mash at the interval you set in the Settings. The boil reminder will alert you to add your ingredients at the times you specified in your recipe.

The Brewing Assistant is just the help you need for making your homebrew a success.

New review, 10 months later I still think it's a great app, well worth the tiny amount it costs. The developer is responsive. I can suggest a minor modification: allow the choice of unit at entry time (continue to use the overall choice as a default). I like liters for volume and for spices I need grams, because 1 gram would show up well, but 0.04 ounces shows up as just 0.0. One more thing: yeasts and hops need updating. Neither WLP090 nor Danstar Belle Saison nor Danstar West Coast Ale (TDS BRY-97) show up.

Don't buy Crashes every time I click the button to brew. This app doesn't actually do anything on my phone

Great recipe app This app is the best available to strictly create recipes. It would benefit from having ingredients updated (such as new hops and yeasts) and a calc for bittering in the whirlpool but no complaints other than that. Very accurate compared to other computer based programs.

Excellent little app Has most of the functionality that I like to see in a brewing app. Lacks inventory tracking, but so far it's the best app I've seen for android

Karsten Leone at April 4, 2015

Great way to manage recipes Syncs with brewology101. Not a ton of features, but great for managing recipes and boil/mash timer.

Must have homebrewing tool!

Kennneth Peters at Nov. 3, 2014

Handy I don't really use it to brew with, but it is handy to have when I'm shopping or discussing recipes with other folks.

Use be be great The last update removed the ability to add a decimal point to the ingredient measurement. Thereby rendering the app useless. Please fix and update. I loved the app before. Using on both Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 10.1

Ryan Morales at Sept. 15, 2014

Vary handy Make sure that you save before you back out of the recipe screen theres no prompt to remind you other than that no complaints

Matt Merry at Oct. 5, 2014

No decimal point When adding hop addition, there is no way to input a decimal point. You could easily go from 1star to 5star if you fix this. ...please, for the love of God

Mark Owen Hughes at Oct. 11, 2014

Handy to have Good for constructing your recipe. I found it easy enough to use

Fantastic app I have been looking for some time for a better brewing app. I had been using BrewPal on my iPhone, which is probably the best smartphone brewing app out there, but the lack of cross platform compatibility was really a show stopper. Working out a recipe on a smartphone is really inconvenient. Brewing assistant solves the problem by being an extension of a cloud based web application. Create recipes on your device or on a web browser, and they sync across all devices. Interface is still a bit primitive.

Great app - home brewers unite A well thought out app that has great desktop integration

Ben Stacy at Jan. 27, 2014

Very good app I like this app. It comes out very close to my PC based software. Not as detailed, but overall a very good app. The free version does not allow you to adjust the mash, so spend the money for the full version.

Jaime Hall at Feb. 21, 2014

Great app with some room for improvement I have used this app for now 2 brews and it is excellent. The timer functions, calculations of OG and FG as well as IBU, and its no nonsense no frills UI are the most helpful. Some improvements needed, though: ° needs lots of updating ingredients with lots of focus on spices, miscellaneous, and some grains as well. ° needs an alarm/timer to remind you of transfer from primary to secondary, or year long ferments, or time to bottle. ° needs to include additional calculating tools for carbonation, mash-in...

Best brewing app out there Tried several apps and this is the best and most versatile.

Adam Van de Grift at May 13, 2014

The perfect brewing app. They need a better drop down list for ingredients, however one you learn them it's not an issue.

Ty Shippee at May 4, 2014

Excellent all for storing your recipes. It makes or easier to duplicate.
