People love it when you talk to them about their hopes and dreams. It really does inspire them when you tell them that you’re a published author, and hope to inspire them with your book. In my case, I have three published poetry books, and a fourth one that will be released in the near future. Others often ask me how I ever got to be a published author. When I tell them my story, it’s amazing how so many would love to follow in my foot-steps. I tell them how each book is different, and speaks about the many issues we all go through in life. They in turn become very interested, and want to know more… Before you know it, they are asking me how to purchase my books. Being a GED Instructor, puts me in a great position to share poetry with my students. They often bring my poems home to their significant other, family members, and friends for them to read. It is extremely inspiring to hear how much their loved ones were motivated, empowered, and inspired by the art of poetry.
In fact, they are so inspired to see my dreams come true, it has motivated and inspired them to begin writing their own books!
Another way that I inspire others is, to hand out a few of my poems at drive-through, fast-food, restaurants such as, Dunkin Donuts. Not only do many of the workers read my poems, but they ask where to purchase my books. More than a few have told me that the poems, and books have made their day. It gives them inspiration to follow their own dreams! Many of the young women, and men have in turn written and shared some of their poems, and short stories with me. It is always such a pleasure to inspire others! Every day is a blessing.
In addition, before you know it, Inspiring others enhances the opportunity to make many wonderful friends and readers, who are grateful for being inspired and for suggestions for the many issues that they’re facing in life. Whether I sell many books or not, each day I am in turn inspired, by the wonderful relationships, and gratitude that they exhibit to me. It truly is a wonderful feeling to touch, and inspire the hearts of others. It is priceless! So what are you waiting for? The World is waiting for you too, to reach out and capture someone’s heart, and inspire them with your wonderful book!

This is truly inspiring indeed.
I have been holding back finishing mine because I just am not sure if the world is ready for the darkness I’ve had to crawl out of from age 4.
I was asked just yesterday, a day of some sorrow for me, “Dana, what if your own experience’s and how you came through each and every dark moment could help even one person, child, adult or whoever?”
It made me think, maybe I shouldn’t be afraid of bearing my soul anymore. I have always hidden it, I am tired of hiding yet, do not want to apoligize for writing out my pain. Pretty torn here…..
Thank you for this, it does have me rethinking my doubts.
